Ohio Was Made for October Weddings

One of my favorite things about living in Ohio is the changing of seasons. Even though I think we can all get annoyed of how long winter likes to stick around, it makes spring all the more enjoyable and it makes us appreciate summer ten times more. But the best time of year, when Ohio really shows off its best assets, is fall.

Specifically the month of October. I mean, who doesn’t love October in Ohio!? The gorgeous, bright, bold, rich colors of the leaves, the crisp, cool air and the eclectic decor that comes with the season. Oh, and football, if you’re into that kind of thing.

Not to mention, you have three wonderful holidays right around the corner. Literally, the most wonderful time of the year.

So, it makes sense that October would be an ideal month for an Ohio wedding. It is a naturally beautiful setting with gorgeous color palettes that are easy to accent and the wedding detail options are endless. Fall floral arrangements naturally lean towards the rich, moody, romantic color schemes that we love and the unique buds and blossoms are breathtaking. We have a whole Pinterest board dedicated to these luscious, unique fall accents. It’s a wonderful time to truly appreciate nature’s beauty and incorporate that into your wedding day.

Another thing we love about October in Ohio is the forecast. Traditionally, temperatures are starting to cool down in October making for a more refreshing day as opposed to a mid-July scorching heat. Rain, if any, is most likely going to be light and it is probably not going to last all day. Unfortunately, weather is hard to predict in Ohio, but based on all of our October weddings and engagement sessions, the weather usually leans in our favor.

Do you agree?!

One of our brides, Katie, said it perfectly...

"We didn't have a fall wedding, but we did do fall engagement pics! The leaves, the trees, pure beauty! Each season has its beauty, the snow in the winter, the blooms in the spring, the gorgeous sun and greenery of summer, but the colors of fall cannot be found any other time of the year and not in every part of the country, making it a one-of-a-kind magical setting."
