BEST SEASON TO GET MARRIED IN OHIO

FINDING THE BEST SEASON TO GET MARRIED

Recently engaged? Congratulations!! We’re totally freaking out right along there with you! You have an exciting year ahead of you and we know you’re probably thinking of a million and a half things that you need to do. Where do you even start!? The very first thing to do in wedding planning is picking a date!

THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN CHOOSING YOUR WEDDING SEASON

There’s a lot to take into consideration when scanning through potential wedding dates. Having enough time to comfortably plan, other events with your friends and family, etc. While May, September, and October are a few of the most popular months for weddings, each of the seasons in Northwest Ohio brings beautiful possibilities.

SPRING WEDDING

Rainy weather brings out rich greens while the first warm(ish) days coax flowers and trees back to life. Explore the beautiful blooms at Toledo Botanical Gardens or the lush wildflowers at one of the Toledo Metroparks. If rain is in the forecast, get close under an umbrella and embrace the season! We’ve had plenty of gorgeous April, May, and June weddings!

SUMMER WEDDINGS

The blue, cloudless skies of summer are the perfect complement to the backdrop of Lake Erie and the Maumee River. Not to mention, those epic summer sunsets provide the perfect opportunity for golden hour moments! There’s already so much to celebrate from July through September, why not add your vows to the mix.

FALL WEDDING

Fall tends to be a local favorite as the rich tones of red and gold among the many trees of the area make for a beautiful backdrop. You’ll also find mild weather that isn’t too hot or too cold. October and November have become some of the more popular wedding months, so if you’re down for some autumn nuptials, you better snag your favorite vendors soon!

WINTER WEDDING

Stark landscapes with muted colors create a dramatic, unique backdrop for outdoor moments in the winter. Not interested in sticking it out in the cold? There are plenty of indoor venues that will keep you warm. And a bonus of planning your wedding between December and March? The chance for some beautiful snowfall!!

WHAT’S NEXT?

Hopefully, you now have a good idea of WHEN you want to get married. Next, you’ll want to start looking at some venues! We’ve created a list of our favorite wedding venues in Toledo and we think you’ll want to check it out! From there, you can start picking your bride tribe and find some fun ways to propose to your bridesmaids.
